Dallas County family cases are filed with the Dallas County District Clerk and heard at the George L. Allen, Sr. Courts Building at 600 Commerce Street in downtown Dallas. From Bishop Arts the courthouse is a short drive across the Trinity — practical for early temporary orders hearings and same-day filings.
Cases are assigned to one of the family district courts (254th, 255th, 256th, 301st, 302nd, 303rd, 304th, or 305th). We appear regularly in all of them and know each court's local practices for temporary orders, mediation referrals, and trial-scheduling preferences.
